This is good work, Marcie. I was with my former husband for 20 years and in a blended family that included 3 ex wives, my son’s father and nine children. Together we faced the challanges of business ownership. getting the kids out of elementary and high school and into college. I loved being married and wish all the couples continued success. What did I learn? That it’s good if you make it good. Always remember to honor the partner, admit when you are wrong and tell the truth.

I have continued with Real Men Cook on a day to day basis working with my son who has been handed the baton. So I can say I am on my second business relationship that has lasted 5 years. I am very grateful. And still I rise!

Hey T-Baby. I’m glad you enjoyed the story. I would say keep the faith as there is someone for everyone. However, hold tight for “the one” who is willing and able to be the partner you need. In the meantime, prepare yourself to become the partner you are seeking.

This is truly wonderful, thank you so much for sharing! And yes, additionally, I truly believe it?s important to share this with us white people, who for the most part have a very distorted vision of marriage as it applies to African-Americans.

No matter what your ethnic background, marriage takes work. The couples you showcase are inspirational in their efforts.

I would like to commend you on this wonderful dedication to marriage, family and togetherness.. Kelly and Anthony are new friends to me, and so far I’ve seen what family means when it comes to them… This gives me a lil hope for the day to come.. Im 33 years old and have been with the same man for 11 years (and not shacking)… But sometimes it proves that some make it happen in a year or two and for some it takes a lil longer… But I think the reality of is, is that you have to be really sure in your heart that you’re willing to give of yourself.. because its no longer about just me..

Anyway,,, I could gone on for days… But i do appreciate this post.. Its a refreshing read…
